Joe Kadlec and Lou Nolan are long overdue for the Flyers HoF. Mike Keenan also deserves consideration. As do the following players
Recchi
McCrimmon
Tocchet
Gagne
Timonen
Briere |

I think Recchi for sure. Maybe Tocchet. The others i'd have to think about. Rex is in the HHOF, and Tocchet was part of the 87 SCF team and other successful playoff runs. |

I'm good with everyone he listed. Danny for his sheer playoff numbers should get in. |

I certainly have a lot of love for all the players listed. Wondering if the others did enough to merit entry.
I can't remember, is Pelle in the FHOF? |

Morning Bill.
I didn't think he was. Is the idea that because of the circumstances of his death, they wouldn't induct him? From his playing credentials, I believe he should be in for sure. |

Career was too short. Pelle only had three full and a couple partial NHL seasons before he died.
The Pelle Lindbergh Memorial Award is how he is officially honored. His No. 31 jersey is also unofficially retired.

Would they ever consider officially retiring it? |

Pelle doesnt belong anywhere near the HOF...played 1 full season 2 part seasons with lifetime 3.31 GAA and .887 Save %...purely based on his career not close . Add circumstances of death . Lets not water the HOF like Phils have there are lots of qualified candidates to consider |

Why retire his number..look at his stats . Add circumstances of death . No way. Flyers have handled this perfectly by creating the award and nothing else. |

One of 3 Flyers goalies to win a vezina trophy. Took the Flyers to the SCF in 85.
Further, back in the 80s, 3.31 gaa and the sp are not bad stats.
In 87, Hextall won the vezina and was a first team all star with 3.01 gaa and .902 sp. It was a more wide open scoring game then... |

Because it is unofficially already retired. |

Grant Fuhr career is basically the same as Lindbergh. .887% save % 3.38 GAA. Those numbers are a sign of the era, and the equipment, not the talent of the goaltender. |

Completely agree. Pelle was a superior talent and a great goalie. There is a reason that he won the vezina and it was not because he was some average scrub. |

His stats reflected his era not his abilities. More telling is the arc of his career:
WJC Top Goalie.
Youngest goalie to play on the Swedish national men's team.
Olympic bronze in 1980. Chosen Swedish Athlete of the Month (ahead of gold medal skier Ingemar Stenmark) by Radio Sweden in Feb 1980.
AHL MVP, Goalie of the Year and Rookie of the Year his first season in North America.
NHL Alll-Star Game selection his NHL Rookie season.
After a very rough second NHL season, he won the Vezina, was a Hart Trophy finalist and backstopped the Flyers to the Cup Final.
The next year, was off to an even better start through six weeks compared to his Vezina year. Then he had the fatal car wreck.
THIS is much more telling than a bunch of stats with zero context. Unfortunately, the sample size was too small. |

Prospects look great so far. Early indications are Allison and Laczynski have the inside track to make the Flyers out of the gate. Interesting to also see Ghost practicing at the Skate Zone wearing his Coyotes gear. |

Flyers can only carry 13 forwards without exceeding the cap ceiling. |

I agree, lets not water down what it means to be in the Flyers HOF. To me at a minimum you should have played the majority of your career for the Flyers and have been a key part to the teams success, as well as obtained individual awards. I think the bar should be set really high, to honor players like Clarke, Barber and Parent, otherwise the entire thing is completely pointless. |

Some of these facts I was not aware of. Ahl MVP and Hart trophy finalist. wow..
Where did he rank in the Calder voting if he was an all star his rookie season?

What a great dman he was. Really wish we had won it in 2010. A lot of guys would have gotten their cup with us (although I know Kimmo did in Chicago). Gagne and Briere deserved a ring. |

Yes, so I think NAK and Frost do not make the team to start the season, so the 13 forwards are:
Giroux, Couts, TK, JVR, Atkinson, Hayes, Farabee, Laughton, Brassard, Thompson, Lindblom, Allison and Laczynski |

5th in Calder. Mid-season he suffered a broken wrist in a game where the Flyers played the Soviet national team at the Spectrum. Wasn't quite as sharp after he got back, although he shut out the Kings in his first game back. |
